Happy Marathon Monday!!

An incredible finish at the 115th Boston Marathon. Kenya's Geoffry Mutai claimed first, shattering both the course AND world record with a time of 2:03:02. Great showings from the American elites as well. Ryan Hall snagged fourth place and broke the American men's course record. Among the women, Desiree Davila battled it out till the final yards for second place, and crowd-favorite Kara Goucher broke her own PR, placing 5th in the elite women's field. Girlfriend just had a baby 6 MONTHS AGO so triple, quadruple props for her performance this morning. The Boston Marathon has received a lot of flack over the past few years, with critics arguing that it's become a less competitive race and overwhelmed by amateurs. But with times like these on the notoriously difficult course, I think it's safe to say that Boston will hold on to its spot as one of the top races in the world.

Good luck to all the runners still out there braving Boston's hills this morning - you're all champions! Time for me to haul myself out for a measly 7 mile run...

Btw, the start line to the Boston Marathon is right next to my parents' house. So when you run it, I will barely have to roll out of bed to come support you =)
